University of Saskatchewan

The University of Saskatchewan was founded in 1907 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier put down the first stone in what would eventually become a 2,425 acre campus in the heart of the Canadian prairies.

Featuring soaring Collegiate Gothic style architecture and a panoramic view of the mighty South Saskatchewan River, the University of Saskatchewan campus is filled with green spaces and colourful flower beds that directly represent the institution’s passion for ecology and the environment.

All of this beauty and grace makes the University of Saskatchewan the crowning jewel of downtown Saskatoon, but it also has significant scientific and competitive accomplishments to boast about.

The University of Saskatchewan Space Design Team (USST), made up of professionals and students across multiple disciplines, has had several impressive first place finishes at the X-Prize Foundation NASA challenges. This is where they broke world records for space robotics technologies and wireless energy transfer.
